Danny is Steve's guide. He is still pretty new at it and working with a Sentinel who has some bad experiences. To top if off, while working a case in Portland he finds out that a guide can have more than one Sentinel who is their perfect match.

Eliot lets out a held breath at the touch, at least marginally reassured by it. Though he's still steeling himself for what feels like an inevitable rejection... which was one of the reasons he hadn't told Danny what he and the team do in the first place. If (when) things go to hell there's no reason for him to know that about them. Except now there is.

"No, it didn't. Hardison hacked into the company systems an' set up an error message so they'd call in for a service," he explains, as blandly as he can manage. "Then he intercepted the call an' I went in instead. They were never in any danger." And if Rachel never meets him she'll never have any reason to know what happened. "An' if it comes to it, Hardison's got me in their system as a short term employee fillin' in for a couple days with all the proper credentials." It's the biggest security company on the island, there's a good chance that even if Rachel tried to pursue it anyone she talked to would just accept he'd been okayed by someone else and move on.

It's difficult hearing the angry tone in Dann's voice directed at him right now, but at the same time he'd rather have it aimed at him than at Eliot. "Danny, we did what we did for you. You can't tell Rachel you know he's yours based on my senses and how else where we going to get a DNA sample? This way, in a couple hours, you'll have physical proof that you can present to her." He pauses unsure if he should continue but then decides it's best to get it all out there. "Then when she denies it or refuses to let you be part of his life, we have a solution to that too."

Eliot shrugs. "She's hopefully gonna be so wrong-footed by being caught out lyin' to you that she won't put up too much of a fight." Or she'll fight twice as hard because of that, but he's trying to be optimistic. "But either way, well... we've dug up some leverage that'll probably help you either way."

He makes himself look back up and meet Danny's eyes at the question, expression just as blandly stoic as before, though he feels like every muscle in his body is vibrating at low frequency. "'Course I was. We were just waitin' for the DNA results."

Eliot sighs and looks away again, still forcing his hands to sit loose at his knees. "Yeah, it's all up to what you want from here," he answers quietly. "I'll have Hardison forward you all the information, for whenever you want to look at it. If you do."

"And if she does you can say you suspected and needed confirmation that it wasn't true and was shocked when the test came back positive." Now that Danny had evidence he didn't think there would be too much focus on why he doubted her enough to look into it further. "This was never meant to be a secret. I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to stress while you had Grace. I figured I could have physical proof for you when I told you. Put you one step ahead. That's on me Danny. Eliot said he'd come to help out and had some ideas on how to do what needed to be done. I would have brought him back to the house last night, but with Grace..." Steve shrugs, it's not his call when Danny introduces him to Grace.

Eliot doesn't move for a moment, other than to blink in surprise, when Danny says he still wants him to meet Grace. He'd been preparing himself to find a flight home and forward Danny and Steve the information from the airport, and it takes him a moment to make the mental adjustment.

He manages not to look as stunned as he feels when Danny stands and he finally looks up at him. At his extended hand. "You sure you wanna do this?" Because he has to give him one more out, no matter how much he wants this.

Leaning over, Steve claps Eliot on the back. "He's sure. We both are. The big question is, is this something you want? Are you willing to put up and work with this messed up arrangement? 'Cause if you are, we're both committed to making it work as well."

Eliot can't resist the touch even if he wanted to, but he's known he was screwed since the first day Danny walked out the door of the pub and he realized he had a completely irresistible, compelling need to follow him. To know where he was and that he was safe, and that dying to keep him that way was a perfectly acceptable option. So he shudders a little at the hand in his hair, breathing out softly through his nose as he lets Danny tip his head up.

"Told you from day one, sweetheart, you can have whatever you want outa this." He reaches to curl his fingers around Danny's hand and lets him pull him up. "If this is what you want, I'm not gonna say no."

Smiling as Eliot gains his feet, Steve nods, satisfied that Eliot is joining them, at least for now. "Good."

Watching them for a moment, all his senses report back their attraction to each other. He can hear it in their voices and just as easily smell it in the air, as see it on their faces. His skin even tingles in anticipation of what he expects will be a kiss. If they aren't feeling the pull to bond already, Steve would be surprised. It aches in him, knowing he can't and he pushes that feeling away, fast enough that it barely registers. He wants this, and he is happy for them.

Smile still on his face, he looks away and gets to his own feet. Prepared to give them some privacy if they wish to become more intimate. It may be what he logically wants, but he doesn't think he can sit in the same room and watch them make out either. He's not even comfortable being the one doing the kissing if others are present, let alone being the interloper.

Eliot's almost startled by Steve's voice, his senses have hyper-focused in on Danny to the exclusion of almost all else, and it's... disconcerting at the very least that he seems to have let himself lose track of Steve so far inside his guard. But it's just the one word, and then Steve's stepping away and Danny's stepping in and apparently he's decided Steve's safe, because he focuses in on Danny again, heart rate quickening as he leans in.

He's wanted this since the moment he first caught Danny's scent, and once he gets it he's not so quick to let it slip away. It's warm and sweet and slow, and he curls his free hand into the loose fabric of Danny's shirt just over his hip. "Think I'm the one who should be doin' the thanking," he answers, and follows Danny as he steps away, not quite pushing into his space but not letting him get away. "'s'got you, that's the part that matters," he murmurs and leans in for another kiss.

Giving them some privacy, Steve quietly scoops the truck keys up from Danny's desk, then discreetly moves out into the hall. He debates a moment but then decides to head to his office.

Eliot's aware enough of Steve now to note him leaving the room, and he takes advantage of the semblance of privacy to lick into Danny's mouth with a soft sigh at the taste of him. Just as perfect as he remembers. "He is," he agrees, shifting to press a trail of kisses along Danny's jaw as he mirrors him, sliding his hand up under his shirt to splay over warm skin. "Was easy t'work with."

He's not really focused on that right now, though. He just needs a moment to match this back up with his sense memory, burn it deeper into his hind brain, no matter how much harder that means it's going to be when it all falls apart. "He wants what's best for you," he adds, because that's an important fact. It's probably what endears Steve to him the most, because it's also his first priority.

"Christ, the taste'a you," he whispers, trying to keep his voice low enough Steve won't have to hear it but loud enough that Danny can, and he shifts back to Danny's lips with a full body shudder as his fingers dip just below the waistband of Danny's pants.

Eliot's already half hard, a reaction that's making him feel like some kind of damn desperate sixteen year old who's never had his dick touched, not a grown man pushing forty. He knows part of it is the tug of the bond wanting to form, dragging him inexorably into Danny's orbit, fixing his focus so intently on him that it's hard for the rest of the world to register. Danny's right, though, and he makes himself pull back with a quiet groan, teeth grinding a little at how tight his jaw is.

"Yeah, that's, uh... sorry," he rasps, though he still has his hand splayed over Danny's back--completely above the belt again, at least. And oh fuck, that smirk. He's so damn screwed, in every way possible... though not currently the fun one, and he shivers a little in anticipation. "Waitin'll just make it better," he assures Danny, leaning in to nip at his ear at the same time that he presses his thumb unerringly into one of the lingering marks he'd left low on Danny's ribs. His.

The knowledge that it's there settles something deep inside him, makes it easier to step back and drop his hand again, and reach for Danny's hand instead. "Guess we should go find your boy an' get outa here, then." Before his currently so very tenuous self control cracks any farther and he loses any ability to give a damn about what's appropriate when and where.

That moan and the question make it almost impossible to hold himself back, and Eliot lets his eyes drop shut for a moment as a fine tremor passes through him. Closing his eyes might not have been the best choice, though, since it just heightens his awareness of Danny's scent and the beating of his heart.

"I could be," he concedes, low and rough, and when Danny takes his hand again he shifts their grip to let him press a finger gently to the flutter of Danny's pulse at his wrist. It's the act of being towed out into the hall that keeps him from saying any more, things that he's sure Steve really doesn't want to hear even more than anything he's likely heard already.

Steve had gone into his office and sat on the couch, leaning his head back and dialed down his hearing as much as he could. It helped enough. He could hear mutterings but not necessarily dialogue until Danny came out of the office and called to him.

Normally he'd argue and insist on taking the truck, but right now having Danny that far away will likely send him into another zone or fit and frankly it's not worth the risk. Instead he nods and smiles tiredly at Eliot. "We flipping to see who gets shot gun?"

Eliot almost forgets his duffel, but fortunately it's near the door and he snags it on the way out. The garment bag isn't important, it had just been uniforms for the three potential cons he, Hardison and Parker had brainstormed, so he doesn't need it until he's heading back to Portland... which he's kind of hoping might not be for a day or two.

"You take shot gun," he tells Steve, and it's not even a hard concession to make. For all the hangups he might have about many things, he's used to being in the back while someone else does the driving, and, hell, he's a lot shorter than Steve, so the lack of leg room's less of an issue. Besides, it's not entirely altruistic, he can sit behind Danny and keep a hand on his shoulder or the back of his neck just fine.

"I'm good, an' for the rest of it, whatever you two are good with."

The gnawing feeling at the edges of his senses briefly eases when Danny rubs his back. What he'd really like to do is cuddle skin to skin and just lose his senses in Danny until everything eases back to where it should. That however is not really an option at the moment, and he'll be happy with what he can get. Being near Danny is keeping things at bay so he's not complaining.

He's about to mention the duffel to Eliot when the other man retrieves it on his own. "Yeah, sounds good," he says to Danny before smiling at Eliot. "Thanks, man." He does appreciate it, he hates sitting in the back. It wasn't something that bothered him so much in the military, but on Hawaii, his seat of choice is the driver's seat. Some might say he's a bit of a control freak, but he has no idea what they are talking about.
